The Life of a Scent
Three moments. Your own words.
An opening, a settled impression and a later moment: enough space to notice a fragrance without checking it all day. Use this notebook to record what you enjoy. Save it only if you want to, or print a blank sheet and write by hand.

In this story
Your wear notebook
Personal observations; not allergy screening or measured performance.
Chapter 01
Before you begin
Use a product that is suitable for you and follow its directions. Check ingredient information and do not deliberately try ingredients you know you must avoid. This is a preference notebook, not allergy screening or a clinical test. Stop using a product that causes discomfort.
Choose one ordinary day and a light, label-permitted application. You do not need a special cleanser or matching body-care set. Keep your necessary routine, and reduce strong competing scents where practical. The testing story explains how to make comparisons more useful.
A closer look
A small record is enough

First hello
Your immediate impression.
After settling
What became more prominent.
Later
Distance, circumstances and preference.

Chapter 02
First hello
Write what you notice just after application. Use a word or a small scene: bright peel, soft flower, dry wood, a familiar hallway. These are personal impressions, not confirmation of ingredients. Add whether the opening feels pleasant, distracting or simply unfamiliar.
Do not force yourself to identify a listed note. Descriptions can guide attention, but the record belongs to you. It is fine to write “I cannot describe it yet, but I want to smell it again later.”
Two voices, one record

Maker’s description
Record the description as a description, not as a test result.
Your observation
Use your own words, including uncertainty about what you notice.

Chapter 03
After settling
Return at a comfortable moment and describe what seems more or less prominent. You can use a clock if it helps you organise the day, but the time is a checkpoint rather than an expected duration. Note how close you were to the application when you noticed it.
Leave time between observations rather than repeatedly sniffing. If you stop noticing the fragrance, use the adaptation guide to keep exposure and physical wear as separate possibilities.
Chapter 04
Later in your day
Record what remains noticeable to you, at what distance and in what setting. Add meaningful events such as washing, a sleeve or a warm journey. They can make a later impression easier to understand without inventing a chemical explanation.
Finish with “Would I like to wear this again?” You can answer yes, no, sometimes or not sure. The notebook is useful when it helps you recognise a preference, even if it does not produce a permanent signature fragrance.

Leave room for an opening, a settled impression and a later moment, without fixed intervals.

Keep or clear your note
Optional saving keeps the note in this browser on this device; the reader does not upload it. Avoid recording private health details. Another person using the same browser may be able to see it, and browser cleanup may remove it. A saved note is not a backup across devices.
Print the current sheet or use the browser's print command. Clearing removes this notebook's saved note and the current fields; it does not remove other guide notes. Without JavaScript, the reading and blank printable sheet remain available, but optional save controls stay hidden.

What a completed note might look like
This illustrative, fictional example demonstrates the structure. It is not a Freya trial, a customer testimonial or a measured BK result.
- Product / fragrance
- Illustrative fragrance A; not the photographed product.
- What the maker describes
- Invented description: citrus and wood impressions. Notes do not confirm ingredients.
- First hello: what I noticed
- Example wording: it reminds me of peeling citrus; I would like to notice it again later.
- After settling
- Example wording: the brightness feels quieter and the overall impression softer. I did not measure intensity.
- A later moment
- Example wording: I noticed a soft trace close to my wrist; I did not check at a greater distance.
- Application and setting
- An invented ordinary day: label-permitted use, a sleeve and handwashing noted in the record.
- Would I wear it again?
- Example decision: sometimes, for a quiet evening. I would record another day separately.
